 The purpose of this practical course is to provide you with an overview of the fundamentals concepts and principles in soil science including soil formation, physical, chemical and biological properties of soil and how to describe your soil profile.
The lab component of this class will allow you get your hands dirty, and hopefully, delving and a "hands-on" look at soil formation, chemistry, physics and ecology. Deeper into the hidden world of soils will reveal some surprising connections to our more familiar, above ground environment.

Behavior and availability of mineral nutrients in soils - principle and methods of soil
testing for fertility evaluation- soil tests for fertilizer recommendations, plant analysis and tissue tests as diagnostic tools for soil fertility status.
The objective of this course is to emphasize these concepts:
) How to establish soil fertility plots
2) Methods of measuring soluble salts, organic matter and soil pH
3) Determination the amounts of some macro and micro nutrients in soil .
