This introductory course orients the beginner nursing student to the nature of professional nursing, its history, and professional nursing roles. It is designed to provide the student with the basic knowledge and attitudes when providing care for clients and their families. It includes the following basic concepts of wellness, health, caring, nursing profession, and nursing process. It also introduces the student to communication and interpersonal relationships which prepare him/her to become effective member in a collaborative health care team. Critical thinking and decision making will be also addressed as a guide for a safe, competent and skillful nursing practice.

The purpose of this course is to introduce the undergraduate nursing students to research process as presented in professional nursing literature. It aims at introducing the basic concepts of research, its nature, purpose, methods, literature review, and data collection, analysis and utilization. It will explore research problems in nursing, appropriate methodologies and designs and ethical implications.  Emphasis will be on the applicability and implementation of the research process to nursing and related problems.

This course introduces the students to current issues and problems influencing nursing practice and nursing education and possible approaches in dealing with them. Discussion of recent trends in nursing services and nursing education and their possible application to the nursing profession will be covered.

This Course aims at providing clinical training opprtunity for the fourth year nursing students to reinforce and integrate clinical skills and knowledge acquired during their study. The student will practice under the supervision of preceptors in different clinical areas they choose with the guidance and indirect supervision of faculty members.

This course is designed to introduce the students to management and leadership concepts and principles necessary to promote students' ability to manage care and make appropriate decisions related to clients. These concepts and principles are also necessary to facilitate students' growth as future leaders able to affect quality of care and introduce change when necessary. Management process is used as a framework in designing the content of the course.
Fourth Year

This course introduces the students to the concepts and issues related to maintenance of health through the prevention of occupational hazards for nurses, clients, and community. It includes safety measures in relation to the nurse's and clients immediate accidents, planning safety precautions, and teaching prevention measures.
Students will demonstrate a base of knowledge in the recognition and assessment of health and safety hazards in any clinical setting

This course discusses the implications of advanced practice and its effects on the development of the nursing profession. In addition, the course focuses on the role of the nurse as a patient advocate and discusses some of the cross cultural and ethical issues that face nurses in providing care for their patients and families and provides guidelines for ethical decision-making.
