Clinical governance is health systems empower organisations to be accountable to safeguard high standards of care by creating an environment in which excellence in clinical care can flourish and continuously evaluated and reviewed. Clinical audit are integrated into clinical governance systems. They are a quality improvement process that seeks to improve patient care and outcomes through a systematic review of care against explicit criteria.
