A short scientific visit (9-21
February 2015) to the LABEC laboratory of INFN, located in Florence,
Italy, was granted to Dr. Hanan Sa’adeh under the regional project
RAS/0/072 on “Evaluating and Mapping Air Pollutants Using Nuclear Analytical
Techniques” funded by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA),
Vienna, Austria.
The purpose of this fellowship training with Dr. Massimo
Chiari was to provide basic and advanced information on the effective
utilization of Ion Beam Analysis (IBA) instrumentations for the
determination of the elemental composition of Air Particulate Matter (APM)
samples.
During this visit, Dr. Sa’adeh analyzed some aerosols samples (sampled
at the University of Jordan, 15 October 2014 to 5 February 2015) by IBA
techniques, namely Particle-Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE), using LABEC
facilities.
