1st year
  
The main focus of this course is personality processes and its relation to adjustment . It deals with defining personality. Personality determinants. Personality theories and its relation to adjustment. Personality processes and its relation to adjustment: Self concept and self-esteem, perceived control, Altruism, Love and hate, Authoritarian personality and prejudice, sex role. The path  from thinking to action. Emotion, adaptation and health. Personality assessment. 
2nd year
  
Defines basic terms in the field of vision impairments. It also defines major types of these impairments and discusses main causes and preventive  procedures. The course also describes historical developments related to education and training of blind and low vision students. Moreover, it  describes the visual system, the effects of visual impairments, utilization of low vision, psycho educational evaluation and educational methods and curricula for visually impaired students, and orientation and mobility techniques. The course  also presents the current situation of services for visually impaired persons in Arab countries and Jordan in particular.
2nd & 3rd year
  
Definitions, classification causes, and prevalence rates of      physical and   health impairments. Evaluation of physically      disabled students and recognition of effects of physical disability     on development. Designing and  adapting curricula, adaptation     of teaching materials and methods, and accessibility of       educational environment.
2nd & 3rd year
  
Principles of early childhood special education historical developments, rationale and models of early intervention, psycho educational characteristics of preschoolers with special needs, programs and methods of early childhood special education, methods of  identification , screening , and prevention, teacher- family collaboration and recent trends in this field.
3rd & 4th year
  
Teaching materials and aids available locally, methods for adapting and designing instructional materials and aids for various categories of special needs, evaluation of effectiveness and appropriateness of teaching aids and materials. Familiarity with computer technology in the production of individualized teaching programs, and supporting software in special education.
3rd & 4th year
  
Provides an introductory survey of fundamental concepts,      studies, trends, and procedures in counseling and       psychotherapy. This will include : what is counseling, its origins,      its purposes, its philosophical and psychological basis, role of     the counselor, its stages and techniques, its basic theoretical     orientations, and some of its applications.
2nd & 3rd year
  
Medical, psychological, and social definitions of mental retardation, prevalence, causes, assessment and diagnosis, psychological, social and academic characteristics, programs and curricula, trends and issues , present status of services in Jordan.
