يهدف هذا المساق إلى تزويد الطلبة بالمهارات والمعارف الأساسية التي تساعدهم في التعرف على الإصابات
والحوادث، والتدخل وفقا لذلك في موقع الحادث. كما أنها تزود الطلبة بالمهارات اللازمة لتقييم الحوادث
الطارئة وتنفيذ إجراءات الإسعافات الأولية التي من شأنها منع المزيد من المضاعفات باستخدام المصادر
المتاحة حتى يتم نقل المصاب/المريض إلى المستشفى.
First Year
Adult Health Nursing Theory
This course is sequel to the Introduction to Adult Health Nursing course. It introduces
students to the conditions that affect the functional health patterns of an adult patient. It
focuses on the bio-psycho-social responses of adults to actual and high risk conditions that
affect their functional health patterns. The nursing process will be used as a framework to
formulate nursing diagnoses and identify nursing interventions directed towards promoting,
maintaining and restoring the health of adults and their families.

Pathosphysiology
The course focuses on the physiological changes that occur due to internal and external stresses. It introduces the student to the pathological alterations that produce diseases and alterations that occur as a result of the disease processes. It also focuses on the body’s ability to compensate for those changes and cope with both physiological and environmental stresses.
Second Year
Introduction to Palliative Care
Master course, 3 credits This course introduces master students to the basic concepts and principles in palliative care. The course extends students’ understanding of the philosophical, theoretical and evidence base aspects of comprehensive palliative care. The emphasis of this course is to help the students to provide holistic care considering the physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs of the clients and their families. Basic concepts and principles in palliative care such as suffering, comfort, and dignity will be introduced in this course.

Symptom Managemnet in Palliative care
Mater course (2 credit theory, 1 credit clinical) This course enables the students to learn about current practices, clinical advancements, and research updates in palliative care nursing. This course takes a holistic approach at the management of symptoms as understood from the patients' perspective and applied to nursing practice. It focuses on managing common symptoms in palliative care and issues associated with patients’ and their families’ needs such as psychological distress and spiritual concerns. The ultimate aim is to improve the patients' quality of life by preparing nurses to apply the recommend care plan based upon the best available evidence.
