This course familiarizes the student with local anesthesia techniques, instruments and methods used for simple cases of extraction of teeth with emphasis on history-taking (dental and medical).
Fourth year
  
     
The course reviews the principles of oral surgery and sterilization. In addition to exploring exodontia and related subjects (anatomical considerations, instruments, techniques, instructions and complications), it discusses the basic principles of surgical extraction and special cases are presented.
Fourth year
  
In addition to training and acquiring skills needed for exodontia, this course offers the student the opportunity to assist and observe minor surgical procedures carried out under local anesthesia or intra-venous sedation and major surgical procedures carried out under general anesthesia.
Fifth year
  
This course familiarizes the student with the treatment and management of pyogenic infection of soft tissues and inflammatory diseases of the bone. It also discusses the surgical procedures used in managing lesions of the oral cavity including soft tissue swellings, lesions of the jaws, odontogenic tumors, cysts of the jaws, tumors of the oral cavity, and the salivary glands disorders. The course emphasizes the interaction of oral surgery with other dental and medical specialties, with special attention paid to TMJ dysfunction, Implantology and injuries of the head and neck.
 
Fifth year
  
This course assists the student to understand the scope of radiographic interpretation and its interaction with all other clinical dental sciences. It assists the student in interpreting the radiographs in conjunction with the clinical findings.
Fifth year
  
A full time structured four year postgraduate course on oral and maxillofacial surgery and related sciences. Including theory and clinical training at the University of Jordan Hospital.
Postgraduates
  

This course takes the form of clinical sessions that aims at enabling the student to diagnose, provide treatment plan and manage cases that require advanced treatment techniques including full mouth rehabilitation. Postgraduate students will accompany teaching staff in supervising undergraduates to help them gain experience in clinical teaching, evaluation and to be exposed to a wide range of clinical scenarios and challenges. The course also include lectures in methods of pre-prosthetic preparation with emphasis on pre-prosthetic surgical procedures.

Third year MSc students
  

This course includes a detailed coverage of all the advanced procedures used to surgically prepare oral tissue for fixed and removable prosthodontics. This course is also concerned with training students in minor reconstructive surgical procedures related to prosthetic work. An integral part of the course is to participation in the advanced pre-prosthetic surgical procedures. Postgraduate students will accompany teaching staff in supervising undergraduates to help them gain experience in clinical teaching, evaluation and to be exposed to a wide range of clinical scenarios and challenges.
