Dr. Saher Manaseer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Jordan. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Glasgow, focusing on Computer Networks and Embedded Systems. His academic and research interests include feature selection, fog computing, backoff load balancing, and mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs).
At the beginning of his career, Dr. Manaseer was the head of information systems at the Amman Chamber of Industry, where he also had liaising responsibilities with EU granting bodies. Following this role, he worked for CEB Software Company for two years, further expanding his experience in the software industry.
Dr. Manaseer has held several notable positions throughout his career. He served as the director of the Thesis Repositing Centre at the Association of Arab Universities, highlighting his leadership and contribution to academic infrastructure in the Arab region of twenty countries. Additionally, he was a member of the Centre of Excellence for all public universities in Jordan, further demonstrating his commitment to advancing higher education in the country. He has also acted as an external referee for grant approval in numerous countries outside Jordan, showcasing his expertise and recognition in the international academic community.
In terms of academic administration, Dr. Manaseer has served as the Head of Department and Assistant Dean, roles that underscore his leadership and administrative capabilities in higher education. He was also a delegate to the International Smart Cities symposium in Dubai, reflecting his engagement with global initiatives and innovative technological developments.
In the UK, Dr. Manaseer taught at Glasgow University and volunteered as a humanitarian assisting the Home Office with asylum seekers, demonstrating his commitment to social responsibility and community service.
Dr. Manaseer has published over 90 research papers in prestigious journals and conferences, and he is also the author of multiple book chapters, further establishing his expertise and contributions to the field. Additionally, Dr. Manaseer has supervised several Master's and Ph.D. students guided their research, and contributed to the development of future experts in the field.
