About Me

Dr. Hussein A. Alhawamdeh is an associate professor of English literature at the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of Jordan. He obtained his Ph.D in English literature from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2011. His reserach interests revolve around Orientalism in Renaissance and Restoration drama, the appropriation/adaptation of Shakespeare in Arabic literature, feminism, postcolonialism, and comparative literature. His articles have appeared in Ciritical Survey, Arab Studies Quarterly, Transnational Literature, and Middle Eastern Literatures. Recently, Dr. Alhawamdeh has joined the advisory board of Transnational Literature, published by Flinders University in Australia. ​​​​​​​
