| | This course deals with the natural and human aspects of Jordan. From the emergence of its political entity and its later development, and up to the present time, by showing its geographical position between the countries of the Arab East, which made it a link and a bridge of transit, and a factor of unity between the parts of that region throughout the ages. The study focuses on the extent of geographical diversity that Jordan enjoys within its limited land area, which is reflected in the multiplicity of its main and sub-ecosystems, which are what the study will deal with in detail. And then the difference in the distribution of land resources among its environments, which is the basis on which economic development of agriculture, pastoralism, mining and industry, and its impact on the geographical distribution of the population and their activities, and their rural and urban communities, concluding the study with an objective analysis of development potentials and confronting their obstacles. The goal behind this is to familiarize the student with the geography of his country, and its advantages and virtues, to deepen his national affiliation, and to actively participate in addressing environmental problems and depleting resources, and then the necessity of his contribution by working to avoid them by rationalizing consumption, and accepting the service of his nation in any location he can work with it. | 4th year |

of the MENA region. Economic structures and processes of development, institutions, and
policy challenges in the individual MENA countries and the region, as a whole, will be
examined. The course starts with a broad overview of the economic history of the MENA
region in the 20th century and continues to address selected aspects of economic policies
and processes. Issues as demographic growth, oil, international trade, globalization,
liberalization and structural adjustment measures, business networks, and corruption will be
analyzed in detail in order to address the contemporary nature of economic and political
