this course, theory and clinical, provides the student with the advanced knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed to provide comprehensive nursing care for the patient with critical health condithions. this course focuses on preparing students to assist the patient and his family to adapt to their conditions and achieve the optimal level of care with the minimum disabilities. the nursing process provides a framework in providing nursing care for individuals within physiological health patterns. this course helps the student to explore scientific literature and utilize research findings in planning and providing comprehensive nursing care for patients in critical care units.
First Year
  
this course prepares the nurse to practice as an advanced practitioner in providing care to critically ill patients and their families. the course is composed of a theoretical part and a clinical part, the theoretical component of the course will focus on the psychological health. these patterns will guide the discussions concerning the health and nursing care needs of critically ill patients in addition to utilizing the nursing process in providing nursing care for this group of patients. students are expected to read the latest research related to the topics of discussion. the practicum will focus on providing the students with relevant clinical experience in a variety of critical care settings.
Second Year
  
the student will spend eight hours weekly in clinical training under the guidance of the faculty members in different critical care units or in the medical and surgical departments according to the student speciality area. the course provides students with the apportunity to utilize the knowledge and skills he/she acquired in providing advanced specialized nursing care to clients.

this course is designed to provide the student with the knowledge and positive attitudes while providing care for clients and their families. it will focus on the bio-psycho-social responses of adults to actual and high risk conditions that affect their functional health patterns.

this course provides students with the basic skills and knowledge that assist them to identify the traumas and accidents and intervene accordingly at the accident scene. it is also introduces the student with the skills to assess the emergency incident and implement the first aid procedures that will prevent further complications using the accessible resources until the victim is transferred to the hospital.

this course focuses on the physiological changes that occur due to internal and external environmental stressors, pathological processes and the responses that produce signs and symptoms. underlying concepts and principles common to major health problems will be presented. the content will focus also on the special health needs throughout the life span. the concepts explored will assist the student in clinical decision making and actions related to nursing care.
Third Year
  
This course introduces the student to concepts and procedures that are fundamental in caring of adult clients aiming at providing holistic nursing care through integrating concepts of nursing, physical, social and psychological sciences. The course is developed and applied within a framework of the nursing process to formulate nursing diagnoses and identify nursing interventions directed towards promoting, maintaining and restoring the health of adults and their families.
