Pathophysiology
The course focuses on the physiological changes that occur due to internal and external stresses. It introduces the student to the pathological alterations that produce diseases and alterations that occur as a result of the disease processes. It also focuses on the body’s ability to compensate for those changes and cope with both physiological and environmental stresses.

Adult Health Nursing II
This course, a sequel to Adult Health Nursing I course. It introduces students to
conditions that affect the functional health patterns of adult patients. Emphasis will be
placed on the impact of these conditions on an individual's functioning. Students are
expected to have skills and knowledge in the process of decision making when
providing care for adult clients experiencing critical conditions. The nursing process
provides a framework for selected independent, interdependent and dependent nursing
interventions including health promotion and lifestyle changes..

First Aid (English)
يهدف هذا المساق إلى تزويد الطلبة بالمهارات والمعارف الأساسية التي تساعدهم في التعرف على الإصابات
والحوادث، والتدخل وفقا لذلك في موقع الحادث. كما أنها تزود الطلبة بالمهارات اللازمة لتقييم الحوادث
الطارئة وتنفيذ إجراءات الإسعافات الأولية التي من شأنها منع المزيد من المضاعفات باستخدام المصادر
المتاحة حتى يتم نقل المصاب/المريض إلى المستشفى.

Critical Care Nursing/ Clinical
The Critical Care Nursing specialisation is offered in collaboration with Flinders Medical Centre and affiliated health services. It aims to facilitate students' progressive development of knowledge and skills in nursing critically ill patients and the clinical environment/s within which they are nursed.

Communication Concepts
This course introduces the concepts within the three domains of the individual, healthcare
and nursing. Emphasis is placed on the concepts within each domain, including medication
administration, assessment, nutrition, ethics, interdisciplinary teams, informatics, evidencebased
practice, individual centered care, and quality improvement. Upon completion,
students should be able to provide safe nursing care incorporating the concepts identified in
the course.

Adult Health Nursing I
This course is sequel to the Introduction to Adult Health Nursing course. It introduces
students to the conditions that affect the functional health patterns of an adult patient. It
focuses on the bio-psycho-social responses of adults to actual and high risk conditions that
affect their functional health patterns. The nursing process will be used as a framework to
formulate nursing diagnoses and identify nursing interventions directed towards promoting,
maintaining and restoring the health of adults and their families.

Research Methodology in Nursing
Survey of program evaluation as a research methodology. Conceptual & methodological frameworks used in evaluation are examined.Students develop an evaluation proposal to be implemented

Quantitative Research Methodology (PhD)
This course will assist PhD students to use organized review and critical thinking to analyze theoretical works, which are of importance to nursing as a discipline and as a profession. Students will utilize a theorist(s) upon whom to design a research study proposal in his/her area of specialization.
