Legal texts translation
This course trains students to translate legal texts such as civil and Islamic courts documents, contracts, agreements and local international accords from English into Arabic and Vice versa. The course also aims to increase students' specialized vocabulary in the field.

Translation 1
Training students to translate various types of texts from English into idiomatic Arabic. Students will be presented with different text types ranging from texts of a general nature to those which are more specialized. In addition to the effective techniques of translation, students will learn how to consider other important elements pertaining to structural relations and contextuality.

Translation 2
This course builds on students’ learning experiences in Translation I. It trains students to translate longer texts of various types from Arabic into English. It highlights the basic problems encountered by Arab learners of English translation. Aspects of text analysis, sentential and structural relations together with the importance of context in translation must be emphasized in this course.

Translation of Commercial and Economic Texts
This course is intended to provide students with the proper strategies needed to overcome problems in translating texts related to economics and development. Texts include: government publications (development plans, reports, studies, projections, bulletins), contracts, agreements and relevant mass-media material. Certain publications by local, Arab and international agencies will also be dealt with particularly those focusing on third world economic problems, population, urban planning, industrial and agricultural development, transfer of technology, proper management of resources. Translation will be from Arabic into English and vice versa.

Simultaneous Interpreting
This course is aimed at developing students' skills in simultaneous and consecutive interpreting from English into Arabic and vice versa. It also aims at developing develop shadowing and note-taking techniques, memory storage and memory retrieval skills. In addition, the course will expose students to different interpreting contexts such as press conferences, national and international conventions and will cover disciplines such as business, trade, politics

Consecutive Interpretation
This course focuses on the necessary skills for consecutive translation such as listening comprehension, taking notes and the capacity to work quickly and efficiently. Students will learn to give the semantic and pragmatic equivalent in spoken Arabic of an oral text in English and vice versa.
